Inductance


1) When current flows though a coil it produces magnetic field lines also called flux.

 


2) Such magnetic flux also can induce an emf on neighbouring coil. This process is called induction.

That is   flux is directly proportional to current having I having

N numbers of turn in the coil.



The proportionality constant M is called inductance.
